Learn Hebrew Pronunciation with ease!
Since Hebrew is the original language of the Tanach (the Old Testament), learning Biblical Hebrew can deepen your understanding of the Word of God (the Bible), and therefore, your relationship with God. Firstly, this Hebrew Pronunciation Chart makes it easy and possible for anyone to learn to pronounce any pointed Hebrew text. Secondly, it is a wonderful tool for Hebrew students and teachers and can be used for modern and biblical Hebrew pronunciation.
How does it work?
The right column features all the Hebrew letters with their transliterated names. The top row features the Hebrew vowels. The empty boxes are place-holders for the letters; they represent the place in which the letter will be in relation to the vowel. Match a letter (or two) with a vowel and find how to pronounce that combination (syllable). Every box within the chart also contains a familiar English word that highlights the sound to look for.
At the back of the chart, you will find some instructions, rules, and exceptions to follow when learning to pronounce Hebrew. The back of the chart also includes all the Hebrew vowels and their names transliterated.
Of course, there is no way to contain all rules and exceptions on this chart, but this list will cover the most important and prominent ones.See more details and instructions in the links below.
