Since Hebrew is the original language of the Tanach (the Old Testament), learning Biblical Hebrew can deepen your understanding of the Word of God (the Bible), and therefore, your relationship with God.

How to use the chart?

The right column features all the Hebrew letters with their transliterated names and their numerical values.

The top row features the Hebrew vowels. The empty boxes are place-holders for the letters; they represent the place in which the letter will be in relation to the vowel.

Match a letter (or two) with a vowel and find how to pronounce that combination (syllable). In every box within the main section of the chart, you will also find a familiar English word that highlights the sound to pronounce.

At the back of the chart, you will find some important instructions, rules and exceptions to follow when learning to Hebrew pronunciation. The back of the chart also includes all the Hebrew vowels with their transliterated names.

Of course, there is no way to contain all rules and exceptions on this chart, but this list will cover the most important and prominent ones.

This UPDATED version, has a consolidated columns for the sound "eh" and a clearer explanations with color coding for the "shva" vowel which can be either silent (BASE SOUND of letter) or vocal (letter base + "eh"). This chart also includes note references to the list of notes at the back of the chart & additional helpful notes. It is available as a physical print in full color (V.1) or white background with or without lamination or as a PDF download on a white background.

How to use?

Hebrew is read from RIGHT-to-left, so you will start from the right and work your way towards the left.
Under each Hebrew word, you will find its transliteration & translation in English. The forward-slash (“/”) separates between syllables and the capitals mark where the accent should be. Pronounce each syllable on its own (left-to-right), then combine the syllables to pronounce the word as a whole.

Make sure you are pronouncing correctly, with my Hebrew Pronunciation Chart.
